Who we are
The Ongweh’onweh (Original People) of North America have been existing and sovereign since time immemorial, emphasized by the 1613 Two-Row Wampum Belt Treaty with the Six-Nations Confederacy and the Europeans.
In modern days, we are reminded of the sovereign creation of the Ongweh’onweh by internationally-accepted affirmations, including the 2007 UNDRIP, ILO C169, as moreover seen represented in the 1790 Non-Intercourse Act, Bill C-15 and more.
